Mawlana Sheikh Mehmed Adil. Translations.

And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds. (21:107) Alhamdulillah, the blessed month of Safar is coming to an end. It is considered a difficult month, and this year it was even more challenging. Alhamdulillah, we have survived it unscathed. But the truly beautiful thing is that after it begins the blessed month of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So, the month of Rabi' al-Awwal. Insha'Allah, it begins in two days. This blessed month is the one in which our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) graced the world with his presence. His blessings and mercy are immeasurable. The blessed day of the birth of our beloved Prophet, as the author of the Mawlid, Süleyman Çelebi, mentioned, is comparable to the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr). It is just as valuable; it is its equal. For the Night of Decree is also a gift that Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, has given to the Ummah in honor of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Ummah of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). However, that blessed Night of Decree is hidden, while the night of the Mawlid is known. Therefore, the entire month is blessed in his honor. May Allah grant us many such months. Insha'Allah, we are waiting for the one who will restore the dignity and honor of Islam. The entire Ummah, indeed all of humanity, is waiting for salvation. And this salvation will come solely through Him. That is, it will come through the Mahdi (peace be upon him), who follows the path of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and is from his progeny. Apart from him, all the talk like, "We held this meeting, we did that," will result in nothing good, only misfortune. The salvation of humanity lies solely with Him, for people have tried and exhausted all other ways; there are none left. The other day, I asked one of our brothers who is knowledgeable in politics... A man was speaking there, and I asked, "Who is that?" He said, "That's someone from the Communist Party." I asked, "Are these people still following the same course?" He replied, "Yes, the same course." I asked, "Does communism still exist?" He said, "No, they basically know that themselves. They've tried everything until nothing worked anymore. But they once embarked on this path and can no longer deviate from it." Yet these systems have long since failed and reached their end. Socialism is at an end, this system is at an end, that one is at an end; they have all failed. Humanity can only be saved by the laws that Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, has decreed – that is, through Sharia. As long as people do not submit to it, oppression, lawlessness, and injustice will persist in the world. No matter how much people claim to be righteous, they will not succeed. Because the current world system is simply structured that way. Even the strongest could not achieve anything if they came now. Therefore, everyone should know and trust that, insha'Allah, that blessed servant of Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, will soon come and save us.

Our Prophet (peace be upon him) says: Yassiru wa la tu'assiru. Bashshiru wa la tunaffiru. "Make it easy!" "Don't make it difficult." "Don't make it hard for people." Allah accepts every act of worship that a person performs, no matter how small it may be. Because if you tell someone, "Your worship will not be accepted," that person might think, "Mine won't be accepted anyway," and never perform it again. But as long as it is done for the sake of Allah, Allah the Exalted accepts this worship. Nothing stands in the way of its acceptance. Allah the Exalted lets us know through our Prophet (peace be upon him): "Make it easy, don't make it difficult for people." If you tell someone, "You have to do this, do that, and do it exactly like this," it overwhelms them. They will say, "I can't do that," and give up the whole thing. But even a small deed brightens a person's heart and brings blessings into their life. For as long as the servant does not forget Allah, he remembers Him when he stands up for prayer. The same applies to ablution. Therefore, one must make it easy, no matter how little it is. One should not burden people and not say: "No, you have to do this much." As long as a servant of Allah does not forget Him, Allah is also pleased with him. "Bashshiru!" "Give good tidings," says the Prophet, peace be upon him. Tell them: "You have done this, so Allah the Exalted is pleased with you, and the Prophet is pleased as well." Many people are plagued by doubts as to whether their deeds are accepted at all. They ask themselves: "Was it accepted or not?" Some spend hours performing their ablution. When they want to start praying, they doubt: "Did I make the intention correctly?" When they do Dhikr or follow a teaching, they are tormented by the worry: "Did I do the Rabita correctly?" Rabita is not that difficult. It is enough that you think of your Sheikh. There are so many who struggle for an hour to "do Rabita." It becomes a burden for them. And in the end, they give it up completely. The Rabita happens by itself; the Sheikh establishes the connection to you. When you think of him, you remember our Prophet through him, and thus Allah the Exalted. All these are facilitations for you. They do not want hardship. Allah the Exalted, our Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Sheikhs who follow his path always show the way of ease. The best example of this is our Sheikh, Sheikh Nazim. He was very strict with himself, with his ego, and strived to follow every Sunnah. But towards others, he always showed the easy way. Thanks to him, thousands, even tens of thousands of people, who started from scratch, have reached the highest spiritual ranks. May Allah elevate his rank. May Allah grant people good and guidance, Insha'Allah.

When Allah, the Almighty, began to reveal the Holy Quran to the Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him – prayers in their present form were not yet established. He commanded: "Stand up at night to pray." “Stand up at night and remember Allah, for Allah sees you at this time." The virtue of the night is greater than that of the day, because worship at night is more strenuous. It is more difficult. Thus has Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, ordained it. Whoever prays before sleeping and gets up at night for the Tahajjud prayer, it will be counted for him as if he had spent the whole night in worship. If you pray two Rak'a before going to sleep and then get up for Tahajjud – even if it is only two more Rak'a – it is as if you had spent the whole night in worship. Some people want to stay awake all night to spend it in worship. But that is a great effort. Some people work at night and others during the day. Therefore, worship at night is also more demanding and arduous. But its reward is also greater. It is many times greater. The reward is a thousandfold. Two Rak'a prayed at night are more valuable than a thousand Rak'a during the day. Many people are not aware of these virtues and the immense reward. Even if you cannot manage it at night, at least do it during the day. Perform your prayers, fulfill your worship. May Allah forgive us all, Insha'Allah. Today is, Insha'Allah, also the last Wednesday of the month of Safar. May Allah protect us. May He bring good. And may Allah ease the hardship of the night, Insha'Allah.

The Honorable Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: As-Sadaqatu tutilul-'umra wa tadfa'ul-bala' As the Honorable Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Charity prolongs life and wards off calamities." The believers should follow this. Thanks to Allah, the month of Safar is now coming to an end. And tomorrow is the last Wednesday of this month. The month of Safar is considered a difficult month. But the Honorable Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tafa'alu bil-khairi tajiduhu – Expect good, then you will find good." Therefore, he called this month "Safar-ul-khair," meaning "the blessed Safar." Insha'Allah, it will bring good and ward off calamities. The most difficult day of this month is its last Wednesday, which is tomorrow. Therefore, people, our brothers and sisters, all Muslims should not forget the Sadaqa tomorrow. Give Sadaqa to be protected with Allah's permission. Every word of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the pure truth. Thus, Sadaqa, whether in the month of Safar or on any other day, protects against the calamities of that day. Therefore, have a donation box and be sure to put Sadaqa in it in the morning after getting up, even before leaving the house, to be protected from the misfortunes, calamities, and any hardship of that day. Sadaqa protects against the evil eye, against evil, against sickness, and against all bad things. And it also protects us from the difficulty of the month of Safar. The last Wednesday of the month of Safar is tomorrow, insha'Allah. May Allah protect us. Some may be worried these days, but there is no need to worry. If you have given Sadaqa, you do not need to fear, with Allah's permission. In addition, there is a prayer with four Rak'a that you should perform tomorrow. In each Rak'a, after Surah Al-Fatiha, recite Surah Al-Ikhlas eleven times. Whoever performs this prayer for the sake of Allah's pleasure will receive a great reward and divine protection. This prayer must, of course, be performed before evening and not after the Asr prayer time, as no voluntary prayers should be performed after Asr. So it can be performed anytime before the Asr prayer, insha'Allah. May Allah protect us all. May He grant us many more beautiful days. May Allah allow us to reach Mahdi alayhissalam, insha'Allah.

Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "When you leave your house, pray two Rak'ah. This prayer will protect you outside from harm and dangerous situations. And when you enter your house, also pray two Rak'ah, so that this prayer will protect you from harm inside the house as well." This means that these voluntary (Nafilah) prayers are very important for a believer, especially for the followers of the Tariqat. Those who do not belong to the Tariqat not only don't attach much importance to Nafilah prayers, but often even to the Sunnah. Yet these prayers are for your own benefit, for the benefit of the people, for the benefit of the Muslims. Allah doesn't need them. The benefit is for you. Therefore, when leaving and entering the house... So not every time you go in and out the door, but when you go to work in the morning, you can consider it as Dhuha prayer. When you come back and it's not the forbidden time around sunset, pray two Rak'ah again. These prayers bring blessings and protect from evil. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "For the four Sunnah Rak'ah that are performed before the Fard of the midday prayer without Salam in between, the gates of heaven open." Four Rak'ah before the Fard of the midday prayer are a strongly recommended Sunnah (Sunnah Mu'akkadah). Alhamdulillah, these Sunnah prayers are performed here with us. But in some Muslim countries, they are neglected or not prayed at all; people come, pray only the Fard prayer and leave again. Or they don't pray at all. They don't attach much importance to it, yet it is very important. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "The four Rak'ah prayed before the midday prayer have the same reward as the four Rak'ah prayed after the Fard of the night prayer." Many people ask us: "You pray four Rak'ah after the night prayer and four Rak'ah after the midday prayer, too, why do you do that?" Because the reward for it is very great. Praying four Rak'ah after the night prayer has the same reward as the first Sunnah of the midday prayer. "And the four Rak'ah prayed after the Fard of the night prayer are equal to the reward of four Rak'ah prayed on Laylat al-Qadr (Night of Decree)." This means that the reward for these four Rak'ah after the night prayer is as great as that for four Rak'ah on Laylat al-Qadr. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "At the time of Zawal of the sun, the gates of heaven open." Zawal means the sun has reached its highest point and begins to descend again. In Mecca al-Mukarramah and Medina al-Munawwarah, the pilgrims, when they look around at noon, see that there is no shadow. When the sun is exactly at its zenith. But it's not like that here with us. It is like that there. At this time there is absolutely no shadow. So Zawal is the moment when the sun passes its highest point. It is precisely then that the time for the midday prayer begins. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says that at this time, at the time of Zawal, the gates of heaven open. It is precisely then that the gates of heaven open. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I love to pray at this time before the Fard prayer, so that my good deeds ascend." This means that praying the four Sunnah Rak'ah at this time is especially rewarding. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "Between every Adhan and every Iqamah there is a voluntary (Nafilah) prayer for whoever wishes." This applies to the time after the Adhan in the morning, at noon, in the evening, at night... for all prayer times. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says that there is a prayer between every Adhan and every Iqamah for whoever wishes, and mentions this also with regard to the evening prayer. This is the voluntary prayer (Nafilah) before the evening prayer. According to our school of law, it is not necessary to pray it. But we perform it to follow the example of the Sheikhs. In other schools of law, a Sunnah is prayed before the evening prayer, not after. In contrast, the Sunnah after the morning Adhan, as our Prophet said, is not just a voluntary prayer, but it is so important that it is almost an obligation (Wajib). The Sunnah of the morning prayer is almost an obligation. It is a Sunnah Mu'akkadah. The prayer after the midday Adhan before the Iqamah is also a Sunnah Mu'akkadah. The prayer before the Fard of the afternoon prayer is Sunnah, even if it is not a Sunnah Mu'akkadah. The same applies to the Sunnah before the night prayer. Some brothers think that the voluntary prayer before the evening prayer is an obligation (Wajib) or a Sunnah Mu'akkadah. No, it is not. It is voluntary (Nafilah). We pray it because our Sheikhs do it and we follow their example. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "May Allah have mercy on the one who prays four Rak'ah before the Fard of the afternoon prayer." Many people may omit this prayer because it is not a Sunnah Mu'akkadah. Yet one should not neglect it, whether it is Mu'akkadah or Nafilah. A Sultan once opened a mosque and said: "The one who has never missed the Sunnah of the afternoon prayer shall become the Imam here." They looked around, but there was no one. None of the scholars present volunteered, because everyone had probably skipped it once in a hurry, precisely because it is "only" a Sunnah. But the Sultan himself had never missed the Sunnah of the afternoon prayer, so he became the Imam that day. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "The two Rak'ah of the morning prayer are better than the world and all that is in it." This means, all of today's cars, skyscrapers, ships, yachts, whatever there is... These two Rak'ah are more valuable than all of that, yes, better than the whole world and all that it contains. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "Two Rak'ah of prayer are better than the world and all that is on it." "If you would do what you are commanded, you would live without worries and hardship, and your livelihood would come to you effortlessly," says our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). People today ask themselves: "We pray, so why is this happening to us? Why aren't our businesses running? Why do we have worries?" That means your prayer is not in order, your faith is not in order, something is wrong. Because what you're saying there already nullifies everything. You should expect everything from Allah. You should not use your deeds, your prayer, as a barter or as leverage. "I did it, but it didn't work..." You see, that's exactly why it doesn't work. Keep your faith and your intention pure. Maintain the proper decorum (Adab) towards Allah and our Prophet. Then these worldly worries are nothing. May Allah protect us - the worries of the Muslims in Gaza, those are true worries. Yet even they never rebel against Allah. But the people here with us already complain about the smallest trifle. May Allah protect us. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "These short two Rak'ah, which you perform as a voluntary prayer and perhaps underestimate, are better for those who add them to their deeds than all the worldly possessions you have." For this world is like a dream, a mirage. It passes in an instant and nothing of it remains. But what remains are these two Rak'ah. This prayer, which you may not attach much importance to, which you consider a trifle, is more valuable than anything else. May Allah grant us all this true beauty. May He give us the strength to follow what our Prophet said, Insha'Allah.

(30:41) Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned. Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, says that corruption has spread everywhere. Corruption means to stray from the right path. In the sea and on land – so everywhere. Evil and corruption have grown and become evident. Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, says that the balance of all things has been disturbed. But how did all this happen? Through the actions of people themselves. How can humans pollute so much? But they have. Everything. Even the great oceans are polluted. Everywhere – the earth, the rocks, the mountains... Through the actions of people, everything has become materially and spiritually polluted. And the spiritual pollution is even worse. Where is this all going to lead? They don't stop, they just keep going. If it continues like this, they will only harm themselves in the end. Yet, Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, handed over this earth to us pure and flawless. He said: "Make good use of it." But man does exactly the opposite of what Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, has commanded. And on top of that, he complains. This disaster is the consequence of what they have caused with their own hands. In the end, man himself must bear the punishment and the negative consequences. Islam is a religion of beauty, a religion of purity, a religion of good. It commands us to do the best in everything. Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, commands: "Eat and drink of the good things, but do not be wasteful." And the things He has forbidden are impure and dirty, therefore He says: "Keep away from them." He says: "Do not drink alcohol." Because alcohol is impure, it is filth. He says: "Do not eat pork," because that too is filth. Everything forbidden is harmful to man, whether in eating or drinking. We have only given a few examples, but the prohibitions are for the benefit of man, not his harm. Yet man seems to consider this a great achievement. He is proud to oppose Allah, the Almighty and Majestic. The punishment will befall him for this in this world, and in the Hereafter – may Allah protect us from it. May Allah guide the people. The more civilized man considered himself, the deeper he sank into ignorance. He practically chases after ignorance. It is as if he does everything to bring this disaster upon himself. May Allah protect us all. May the misfortune that emanates from these evildoers not befall us, Insha'Allah. The air, the water, the seas, the ground – everything is polluted and impure everywhere. But those who are on Allah's side and turn to Him, Allah will protect them from this harm out of mercy for the believers, Insha'Allah. May Allah protect us all.

And those who believe in Allah and His messengers - those are the righteous and the martyrs, with their Lord. (57:19) The position of the believers is exalted with Allah. But those who disbelieve, misery awaits them. A terrible end is destined for them. As long as man is in this world, he has the opportunity to find the right path. But there is the one right path and besides it the wrong paths, which some consider to be right. These are paths that people have devised according to their own discretion. Whoever chooses one of these paths will either find happiness or misery. That is, in the end, either Paradise or Hell awaits him. For this reason, Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, has shown mankind two paths. He commands: "Come to the right path." "Come to My path, to My Paradise. Come to peace and beauty." Allah warns: "Do not follow Satan and do not tread the path of misery and Hell." Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, never wrongs His servants. Truly, His word is the truth. And the glory that those who follow His path attain is eternal. We often say "forever and ever," but what does eternity really mean? "Forever and ever" means infinity. But our worldly understanding of it only extends to death. But true life begins only after death. Therefore, the journey of the one who walks the right path does not end with death. Because real life only begins after that. So that man can make this choice, Allah has given him reason. If man uses his reason and listens to the truth, he will not stray from the right path. He should follow this path so that he may find a good end. Thus, he attains both salvation and peace in this world and eternal bliss in the Hereafter. May Allah protect us from straying from the right path. May He grant guidance to all mankind. For people talk about "democracy" and what not. They say: "This is my opinion, this is how I see it" and insist on their view. Put aside your own opinion and follow the path of Allah, the Almighty and Exalted. May Allah be the helper of us all.

(20:124) And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life Allah, the Exalted and Mighty, says that whoever turns away from Him and devotes himself to the world will lead a life of hardship. A person who forgets Allah will never be truly happy. For there are people who may remember Him once a day, once a week, or once a month. But there are also those who never remember Him throughout their lives, who pay no attention to Him whatsoever – and sadly, this is the majority. That is why humanity is in constant distress. This is the real problem. For everything is in the hand of Allah. It is He who gives you all that is beautiful, good, and all gifts. But instead of remembering Him and thanking Him, man does not waste a single thought on it. He loses himself in worldly worries and spends his life in distress, because he only asks himself: 'Is this expensive or cheap, beautiful or ugly?' In his life, there is neither peace nor true beauty. The consequence: constant distress, strife, chaos, and conflicts with fellow human beings. He does not get along with others; he insults them, and they insult him. Even in the family, between husband and wife, there is no peace. The reason for all this is that they do not remember Allah, the Exalted. If only they had thought of Allah, remembered Him... For remembrance, Dhikr, is precisely that: to remember Allah. When one is mindful of Allah, then one knows: "My Lord sees me, my Lord hears me." Allahu hâdirî, Allahu nâzırî, Allahu ma'î. (Allah is present with me, Allah is watching over me, Allah is with me.) The moment you know: "Allah is with me," everything becomes easier and more beautiful. Otherwise, nothing in life can be easy or beautiful. The greatest misery is to forget Allah and not to remember Him. Therein lies the real suffering. That is why things are getting worse in the world day by day. For in the past, people remembered Allah and thought of Him more often. Today, however, there are so many useless distractions that man forgets Allah and loses himself completely in them. While he makes plans to do this and that, he only sinks deeper into distress. He struggles and desperately asks himself: "How do I get out of here?" The more he tries, the deeper he sinks. May Allah protect people and guide them so that they may find happiness, insha'Allah.

Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, says in the Holy Quran (in meaning): Whoever commits a transgression or a sin and then blames it on an innocent person truly burdens himself with a tremendous guilt. This sin weighs doubly heavy, for one not only commits a misdeed oneself, but also plunges an innocent person into misfortune and inflicts great harm upon him through slander. Unfortunately, this is commonplace among many people today. They commit a misdeed with the malicious intent to harm another. And this innocent person ends up either in prison or suffers great misfortune because of this slander. Such injustice is a tremendous sin and a direct violation of the rights of a fellow human being. For a sin that you commit against Allah, Allah can forgive. Allah is the All-Forgiving. But for the sin of accusing an innocent person of something and thereby harming him, one will certainly be held accountable in the Hereafter. No matter what your intention may be, do not imagine that it will go unpunished if you slander an innocent person and plunge his life into darkness. One will certainly have to account for that. One will deeply regret it, but then it will be too late. Settling a debt solely to Allah is easier. Allah is the All-Forgiving. But Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, does not intervene in the rights that people have among themselves. In this matter, only the one whose rights have been violated can forgive. People may forgive small things, but an atrocity that destroys an entire life is difficult to forgive. Unfortunately, there are many who act this way today. And they should ask themselves: "How will we ever answer for this enormous guilt?" For some who call themselves Muslims resort to such means to achieve their goals. The principle "The end justifies the means" is a communist principle. Whoever acts according to this principle will not shrink from any disgraceful act to achieve their goals. This is common knowledge. Unfortunately, even some who call themselves Muslims adopt this false way of thinking. May Allah grant them understanding and insight. May He guide them to the right path. Inshallah, they will desist from this grave error and thus save themselves. May Allah protect us all. As our ancestors said: "May Allah protect us from baseless slander." May my Lord protect us from all kinds of slander and evil. And may He also protect us from inflicting such cruelty on anyone, inshallah.

It is our duty to show respect to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). For showing respect to the Prophet brings us Allah's mercy, His forgiveness, and His blessings. Whoever does not recognize this suffers a tremendous loss. For Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, created all of creation in his honor. Therefore, the respect shown in this world mostly stems either from self-interest or it is a trick of Satan. So if you want to honor someone, do it for the sake of Allah. Respect is due to those who serve Allah, who bring guidance, and who protect people from disbelief. For faith is our most precious possession. Therefore, it is right and important to also show respect to those who came after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): the Companions, the Caliphs, and the Ahl al-Bayt – all those who brought faith closer to the people and taught them. Should one show respect to someone who is not righteous? Showing respect to someone whose deeds displease Allah is not only useless but even harmful. May Allah protect us from that. May Allah guide the people. Showing honor to people who have strayed from the right path and chase after trivialities is therefore not only pointless but often even harmful. People today often admire famous personalities. They emulate them, hoping to attain this kind of prestige and respect themselves. But there is no point in honoring those who do not walk in the path of Allah, the Exalted. Such veneration only stems from one's own ego. May Allah protect us from that. For if you give free rein to your ego, it will lead you to ruin. May Allah protect us from that. May Allah protect us from the evil of our own egos. May Allah grant people reason and insight so that they can distinguish between good and evil and judge things according to their true worth. There are so many who attach importance to worthless trinkets – dust and stones – while they do not recognize the value of jewels and gold. May Allah protect us from that. May Allah, insha'Allah, count us among those who recognize true value.
